when the knob is down it allows you to pull up the ebrake and goes down by itself, to lock the ebrake push the knob forward and pull ALL the way up. DO NOT FORGET TO LOCK THE EBRAKE EVERYTIME YOU PARK---THAT'S WHY WE STATE THIS ITEM IS FOR OFF ROAD USE ONLY
